Bennie Ray Norton, 81, of Osborne, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017.  He was born on January 16, 1936 at Bellaire, KS to William & Norma (Rogers) Norton.  He was 1 of 5 children.

Bennie completed 8th grade.  He married Judith Marcellene Sickels and they had 6 children to this union.  Bennie worked as a machinist/welder at Wolf Manufacturing, GTI and Machine Laboratories all of Denver, CO.  After he & Judith moved to the Osborne & Portis area, he worked 19 years for the Osborne County Landfill before he retired from the county.

Bennie moved his family to the Osborne/Portis area in 1978 and he & Judy moved to Osborne in 2008.  Bennie enjoyed collecting and restoring old classic cars, guns and antiques.  He also loved designing and making things out of metal.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard in 2007 and his wife, Judy in 2010.  He is survived by a sister, Roma McCorkle of Sabetha, KS; daughters: Pamela Norton of Smith Center, KS; Gwendolyn Patterson of Osborne; sons John (Brenda) Norton of Portis, KS; Bill Norton of Sacramento, CA; Cliff of Hays, KS: 13 grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandchild.
